Investing in your 20s

As I navigate through my early/ mid 20s I found myself faced with an overwhelming amount of emotion/ change and what I like to call crisis. Where I know your 20s are way too young to be having a “crisis” there is so much that society or individuals/ our careers expect from us to just jump into and know. When the truth is in reality, we don't know anything. We are navigating our 20s with the most extreme changes we will deal with in our adulthood, trying to balance the start of our career and our social / family life, while also taking care of ourselves and seeing what the future is going to hold.
A few things that I noticed while navigating this all is what to truly invest in during my time in my 20s. Not falling for the ads of Tik Tok or influencers, not falling for the pharmaceutical ads on the TV or billboards. Deep diving and doing my own research on proven studies for what to put in and on my body. Because yes, fresh produce and whole foods are "expensive" but medical bills are more expensive.
The first thing that I personally invest in monthly is the chiropractor. I think that everyone should go to the chiropractor at least once. It is important to make sure our spin is in line, our legs are the same length, and our posture can improve. We hold a lot of stress in certain parts of our body where a chiropractor can tell, adjust and after a few times our body will adjust naturally to these adjustments.
The second thing I invest in for my body care monthly is acupuncture. If you're in my life, you know how much acupuncture has changed it. Just after the first time I got this done I slept through the night for a week, I had reduced stress, I had less joint pain etc. I feel that especially today a lot of people veer off the holistic approaches while pharmaceuticals and vaccines give us a more "convenient" way out of our pain. When there are so many easy things you can do to help yourself more while taking care of your body and increase longevity as well.
Another treatment I invest in is red light therapy. Stanford did a study showing that hair regeneration and wrinkle reduction have robust evidence in support of using red light therapy. I do red light saunas monthly, as well as purchasing a red-light therapy mask that I use daily, I use it in the morning and at night on a different setting the tool has to offer. The tool I use is linked but I would recommend seeing a dermatologist or esthetician to see what they recommend.
I personally invest monthly in a luxury gym. I find this an investment because it has all the amenities that I use daily when I visit it. Any workout class you can ask for from cycling, to HIIT, to yoga, to Pilates and barre. They have a Spa built in as well, that offers cupping, deep tissue massages and waxing / facials. As well as a saltwater pool, ice bath, jacuzzi, and steam room. Now, I invest in this personally because studies prove that people who work out are less likely to be moody, it affects their cravings and increases the longevity of your life. I take an ice bath about every other day, the benefits include better sleep, boost metabolism, muscle recovery and inflammation reduction. Furthermore, the benefits to a steam room. Studies show direct correlation between the steam room and cardiovascular disease. This includes the respiratory system as well as improving circulation throughout your body.
It's important we take care of ourselves while navigating through such a hard time in our lives but again, today people are getting distracted from the resources we have from the earth that are naturally put here to help us and heal our bodies.
