Things that motivated me and helped me start to feel and act like the main character in my life. I feel like in general there is a lot of pressure on people to act a certain way and just what society expects from you. However, are we all living to please society? I hope not, lol. I feel like once people realize that when you start taking care of yourself, your mental health and how you genuinely feel everything else starts to fall into place. Taking steps everyday, getting into a routine and just doing things that you look forward to are very important. Specifically things that make you feel good. Understanding that you live for one reason and it is not to live up to society’s expectations or to please someone else is in my opinion the key to happiness. To continuously do things and actively thinking and making it a habit to ask yourself what else you can do to be happier in life and then actually doing it is great. For example, everyday for myself I journal (I truly believe this has changed my life and you need to do it), I make my skincare a priority. I drink tea and a green juice, because of all the benefits it has for you and how it makes you feel.
It is hard to come to terms and dig deep to understand a lot of these concepts. Most of society does not realize this until they are in their 30s/40s which is not an issue at all. However, understanding this earlier and having that potential time is such a blessing and a freedom. I used to care a lot about others and how they perceived me, and I thought I enjoyed and loved taking care of myself. It took a-lot of upsetting and disappointing experiences to realize I wasn’t prioritizing myself how I should have. We do routine things that the books and the doctors say will make us feel better etc. but are we doing these things and then checking back in with ourselves truly seeing how that actions makes us feel?
Again, its not easy to get to this understanding and sometimes it takes multiple similar situations for this to get drilled into our brains. The more you take care of yourself on the inside and truly do it, wheather it's going on do not disturb for a few months, canceling out distractions and saying no to things that are not serving us, the more we will glow on the outside and through our work whatever that may be.
