As we all know COVID-19 has changed the world as we know it. Everything we knew was flipped upside down, our freedom to go places when we want wherever we want has been compromised because of this terrible virus. Masks being mandatory, sometimes at 15 hours at a time depending on where you work. Taking as many safety precautions as we possibly can so we can protect our friends and our loved ones. Below are some steps that I have been taking to be successful in my online classes, this time can be hard and stressful but I am hoping that these steps can motivate others to not give up.

1) Getting a stable and healthy routine in check is key. Not just with your academic calendar and schedule but also with yourself. Once you start going through a daily routine for your life in general it will be more likely you will be successful having a school routine down. Being able to sit and get your work done for each class etc.

2) This next step may be a hard one for a lot of people having to switch from going to school to online school, finding a quiet place to work. Having an environment and space to go and get your work done that you feel comfortable is important. If you don't have a space that is quiet in your house or wherever your staying noise-canceling headphones are a great investment. They will help block all noises out and keep you focused with fewer distractions.

3) Getting a monthly open calendar to get all of your assignments and exams are written down in for when each class is due. This is great for online classes because you may not always have teachers or professors reminding you or warning you when there is an exam or project due date coming up, being on top of your assignments is going to lead you to success in the class.

4) Contacting other students that are in your class is another step to help with your success through the class. This is a great thing to do either during online classes or in-person classes. Having a friend or someone you can text when you need something or have a question vis versa is very helpful. Not to mention they may be in other classes you have through college so you'll always have someone you know in a class. Also great if there is ever a group project or research assignment and you need others to work with.

Thanks for reading!

xoxo Katarina
