Last month my friend asked me what my New Years' resolutions were, for a minute I thought about it and realized I have never really been one to make resolutions at the start of the new year. Sure, I go into a new year praying and with a clear and good mindset. However, I believe that as humans we do not have to wait for a new year to begin the positive and healthy habits we wish to start. Frankly, I believe by waiting for a certain day and putting off these resolutions is lazy. If you want to start eating healthy, do it now. Maybe you want to start going to the gym more often or sign up for a gym membership, do it now. A majority of Americans' resolutions are easily just changing inhabit through the day or adding a positive habit in their routine. I think that no-one should wait, or put it off. Start now, whatever you want to do start those habits now, so by the time the new year comes yours already in a new routine.
Personally, I have not felt like myself for a while. If we are being completely honest I think that self-love and crediting myself for just going through everyday motions is something I lack. A lot of people have a problem with self-love, and as a society we support it. I have been trying to take my life back, starting to feel like myself and begin to be happy again. I am going to start a series of self-love habits and seeing the beauty in life. Finding myself pay more attention to how the people in my life act everyday or how they react to situations shows me that I also need to make a change. Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it, let that sink in.
Reacting to everything going on in your life whether it be a change of a job, a coffee spill in your car, or people walking out of your life. What determines your energy and your attitude on it is how you react. Things that happen do not make us angry, we let them make us angry. This being said like any kind of change, it is easier said than done. Noticing the problem and addressing it in your life is what is the most important though. Now you recognize it, you open your eyes to see the negative energy in your life and you're choosing to set yourself apart from that, and you're doing that for yourself. That is self-love.
Thank you so much for reading loves, I am going to make more blog posts in this series and I am so excited to take all of my readers on this journey with me!
Love, Katarina xx
