I have been thinking of how excited I am to be starting this series on my blog. I took a few months off of blogging, mostly because I had no clue what to write about. Falling into a low place and masking a lot of my feelings and emotions for the last few months of 2020 has been catching up to me lately. I have decided however to start taking care of the things that are most important to me, my education, my well-being, and my energy. I have been paying a lot of attention to my energy, how I react to situations and all the ups and downs that life brings my way.

Getting into a routine has grounded me like nothing else. It has truly brought balance and calmness into my life. Routines are talked about a lot, but what I don't think people involve enough in them are actions that work for them. Routines should not feel forced they should feel natural, they should bring you peace throughout your day. I love to journal, after doing this for about a week I see such a difference in my attitude throughout the rest of the day and how I see life.

I also love my agenda book, this keeps me on track reminding me of my goals for the day. This is important for me because feeling successful is a way that I feel good about myself. Being able to get things done and psychically see them crossed off my list keeps me motivated to stay productive.

Getting movement in each day is another habit that has helped change my life. I always get myself out of bed and outside in the first hour or so of being up. I go on my podcast walk every morning, another habit I have seen make a large difference is listening to education podcasts. I am starting to fall in love again with learning, reading and being curious about everything. This is so calming for me because it takes my mind off of my phone, or separating this from my schoolwork.

I am going to continue this Blog series about taking your life back this year, and upload every week. I feel that in all of the chaos that went through 2020, a lot of us lost a year, yes we picked up a hobby or we relaxed and tried to stay healthy. however, I have come to terms that I need to start this mindset now, I need to strive now, as you get older your responsibilities get larger.
